Ancient Egyptian Tree of Life 40X30

0.00

This mixed media painting is an Ancient Egyptian themed version of the Tree of Life.  If you look closely you can see an owl, symbol meaning the guardian of the after life and a scarab symbol, an important amulet, amongst the tree branches. There is also a little white dove sitting on the wall.  An Egyptian queen and ancient wall symbols are peeking through layers of paint against the white wall under either side of the acacia tree. Number 9 is considered sacrad and a symbol of the life as a rhythm and development. The background was created by collaging old National Geographic pages about pharaohs and queens. I arranged the pages onto the canvas so they resemble cut blocks of stacked stone like the walls of a pyramid might look .
