New Online Class Titled Summerscapes

We had so much fun teaching our very first online class in June called "Tree Tutorial". Miriam Schulman, Jan Schmuckal and I are now are offering a new class titled, Summerscapes.

We will have online videos to watch-- no need to do a special download. Miriam has created a FREE online community where you can share your art with other artists. This is the site where class will be held. You can check out the site right here at SchulmanArt.ning.com.

I'm going to demo a version of this painting, which is already sold. You'll have to take the class to be the first to see how my new version turns out!

Click here for all the details and we hope to "see" you in class!

Friday Five iPhotos

The sun has been shining all week long. Of course we made up all sorts of excuses just to be outside. Feels so good to be alive when it's finally warm enough to kick off your shoes and walk barefoot through fresh green grass.

Here are few photos of what life is like right outside my studio door.

New Artwork

Here's a new  little mixed media painting available in my Etsy Shop.

The background is created with old papers collaged onto a cradled board. The sun is actually made from faux gold leaf which makes a rather shiny sun. Except it doesn't really show up in the photo. You'll have to see it for yourself. The piece is 8X8" and the tree with two little lovebirds sitting on a branch is painted in acrylic.

PS I've moved my website to a new platform. It's going to take some time to find my way around. Thought you might like to know...just in case things look a little different and you were wondering why.

Happy Easter

Have a great weekend...spend time with the ones you love

From my iPhone app, Instagram...5 picks from last week:

Wine sampling in Oregon Wine Country. My artist's critique group met last week in the studio of one of our members, Lorrie Lewis, Panther Creek Studio, located in the cute little town of Carlton.

Photo from inside Lorrie's gallery.

Pattern and candlelight with fabulous must see artwork by Lorrie. Hurry though her pop up studio gallery is only open until June 2013.

Adjoining Panther Creek Studio is a gourmet French Restaurant called Cuvee.  The owner and awardwinning chef Henri is originally from France and if you go to his website he has a story to tell!

Cisco wants to be a house horse, but I don't think Zoey is interested in sharing her bed with that great big nose with the muddy feet!

Georgie looking small but happy running wild and free in the Christmas tree field.

Test Your Color IQ

Erica found this really fun Color IQ test . It tests to see how well you see color. I think it also helps if you have a color corrected monitor. How well do you rate? The lower your score the better you see color.

Reminder: Speaking of seeing, "see" you in class (virtually) on March 21st, the first day of the online Tree Tutorial Workshopwith Miriam Schulman and myself. You still have time to join in the fun!
